Anne Forbes is a graduate of the first North American Academy and among the first to be authorized as a Presenter and then a Teacher of the 3 Doors practices. She served in a number of volunteer staff roles, most recently as coordinator for the Presenters Program that supports practice guides around the world.
Anne grew up on the deep prairie soil of central Illinois with her hands in the dirt, bugs in a jar, and tadpoles in a tub. Over the years, her affinity for all living things led to a career in environmental science and community collaboration as an ecologist, facilitator, and teacher. She brought innovations in the design of participatory programs to academic, government, nonprofit, and community groups.
After decades of exploration into indigenous traditions around the world, Anne is steadfast in her commitment to caretake ancestral traditions as offered to the modern world through the generosity of their elders.
Anne is a certified SoulCollage® facilitator and is passionate about integrating the inner reflection sparked by creative expression with the transformative practices of The 3 Doors. She is author of Wheels of Time and Place, a toolkit of circular journals for tracking cycles and seasons.
As of December 2022, Anne retired from her long-time operational roles in The 3 Doors’ organization. She remains active as a 3 Doors Teacher and is exploring her next steps as a  grandmother, elder, and advocate.
