Embracing a New Beginning with an Open Heart, Self-Paced

Anytime

Often when we face a significant change in our lives – a move, a new job, a marriage, a death – this period of change is ripe for self-reflection. Even a simple marker of time, such as a new year, brings energy to set intentions for the next chapter.

At the beginning of 2024 looking toward all that the year might hold, Marcy Vaughn and Phil Tonne hosted an online retreat where participants were guided to settle, to arrive more fully in each moment, and to embrace what emerged with openness, awareness, and warmth. Now this retreat is available as a self-paced personal retreat, for support any time you embark on what feels like a new beginning. The retreat includes teaching sessions as well as sessions of guided practice.

In this retreat, you will be guided to:

  • Explore each of the three doors
  • Bring attention to how your experiences of life show up within you
  • Allow your patterned perceptions and habits to soften and rest in the space of meditation
  • Open to new possibilities that emerge as you discover fresh ways of relating to yourself and to the world

Newcomers will find this a welcoming introduction and “taste” of the practices of The 3 Doors. Experienced practitioners planning a personal retreat will appreciate the support of these guided practices, with just enough time to rest in each door before hosting a challenge from daily life. The final practice widens the focus, supporting practitioners to embrace their perceptions of suffering in the world around us, allowing the emergence of compassion for ourselves and others.
