Kathy Hayden was born in Cairo, Egypt to American diplomat parents. Early childhood years were spent in Egypt, Tanzania, Kenya and Libya. She attended high school in the Washington DC area and has a BA in Liberal Arts from Lawrence University in Appleton, WI. In 2010 Kathy earned a certificate in painting from Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art in Philadelphia, PA. Kathy’s work life has been varied: exhibiting artist, event coordinator, retreat coordinator, fundraiser, grant writer, public relations, marketing, graphic designer, and volunteer for political campaigns.
Philadelphia, PA has been her home for the past 38 years. She is married and has raised three children. In recent years she has traveled back and forth to Florida caring for mother who passed away last April.
Since becoming an authorized presenter, Kathy has guided two weekly meditation groups, mentors individuals learning to meditate, and facilitates small groups for presenters to practice presenting. When a group of people from one of her regular weekly groups decides to take an online 3 Doors course, Kathy will lead a group for them to practice and discuss what they are learning. This is one of the ways she stays actively connected to the 3 Doors teachers and continues to deepen her own understanding of the teachings.
