Embodied Presence

Humans are deeply sensitive and intelligent beings. And yet, when we are caught up in the busyness of life, we are often disconnected from our inherent resourcefulness and wisdom. We’re captured by our moving mind—worrying about the future or dwelling on the past—and we often miss the opportunity to experience the full support of our own embodied presence.

An Introduction to the Five Warrior Syllables

In this interactive 5.5-hour online retreat guided by seasoned meditation teacher Marcy Vaughn, you’ll be introduced to the Five Warrior Syllables, a powerful meditation practice with roots in the Tibetan Bön tradition. This practice helps us connect with five energetic centers in the body. Through breath, sound, and awareness, we meet and metabolize limiting habits held in the body, breath, and mind and discover fresh and open spaces within that support presence, creativity, and resilience.

No prior meditation experience is necessary. This retreat is designed for those who are curious about exploring new ways of connecting with the transformative power of embodied openness and awareness.

In This Retreat You Will:

The Power of Sound and Silence

By bringing breath into the body with awareness and allowing it to emerge as sound we can meet whatever is present in our experience. As we rest clear and open attention in the cessation of that sound, we uncover a rich source within us. Becoming aware of even a moment of openness in this way reveals a taste of freedom. We are no longer constrained by our habitual fears and anxieties. Abiding in open awareness, connected to the natural state of our being, we discover we are inherently dynamic, inventive, humorous, and creative beings.

Over time, as we continue to practice, we develop trust in our capacity to open in any given moment–anytime, anywhere. Through openness we have access to an inner refuge that is fresh, emergent, resilient, and resourceful.

As Marcy describes:

“When you discover your truly unbounded capacity to be aware and present, you enter a refuge of being. The good news is, this is available at any given moment and there’s support to do this within your very own body.”
