Opening the Door of Body: Nourishing the Roots of Openness
April 2020: Copenhagen & Utrecht
As we move through the many environments and activities of our life, our attention is generally on what we are doing, where we are going, and what we’re accomplishing. We don’t often pause to reflect on what drives all this activity and what we need to act flexibly and effectively in the world. It is like only noticing the blossoms on a tree without recognizing the strength of the roots that enable the tree to grow and flourish. It is important to connect with and nourish the roots. When we are rooted and supported, we can open. As we open, we expand more authentically, receive more fully, and express ourselves more freely.
The focus of this workshop is discovering and sustaining rootedness and inner stability through self-reflection, sound, breath, and meditation. We will work with our posture to find stability through a deeper connection to the physical body. We will work with breath and the sacred syllable A to find the support of the central axis of our subtle anatomy. And we will use meditative awareness to deepen our residence in the spacious, powerfully stable base of our essential selves.
